POP ART

Picture
Here is a picture of a painting I did. We were supposed to take a picture of the face of any star; movie star, music star etc. Then we took a canvas and draw the face in it. With acrylics, we were supposed to paint it like a pop-art painting. So I took my initial colour, which was purple, and made five different tones. After I had already finished drawing the face, I spotted the shadows and started painting with the different tones. For the background, I chose yellow which is the complement colour of purple.

What I founded easy to do was the colouring of the drawing because I already spotted were the shadows where. What I founded difficult to do was the drawing because we had to scaled it. One mistake I made was that after I have finished colouring everything I had to paint one thing but I change of tone so I had to paint all over again.

Draw with Words

Picture

Another interesting project I did is painting with words. In this project we were suppose to take another artist of any kind and make a drawing of him. But we had to draw him with words instead of lines. We have to put phrases that symbolises or represents this artist. I chose to do Wayne Rooney because he is my favourite soccer player. At first I draw him with pencil and then I over pass the drawing by writing with words. The phrase I most used was “Glory, Glory Man United.”

I find it hard to make shadows and details with words because sometimes I had to draw too little. Draw the face was really easy because I just trace the picture. I find it long to write in the whole drawing because it was kind of big the drawing.

Finish the picture

Picture
The most interesting and freely project was finishing the picture. We had to chose one object from a magazine and cut it and paste it in a new piece of paper. Then, with our imagination, we had to finish the rest of the picture. I draw this person because it symbolises how nature interacts with humans and things humans make.

At first I didn’t knew how to start or what to do, so I started drawing the road and then the ideas just flourished. I used a friend’s help by letting me use him as a model to draw the face, he would be in front of me and I would draw according to his facial proportions.
